SELL LIKE YOU MEAN IT.

I just had the opportunity to be the guest speaker at Founders Forge for Week 3: Communication in Sales, leading a Speak Like You Mean It™ coaching session for entrepreneurs and founders.

The theme?

SELL LIKE YOU MEAN IT.

Because you can have a brilliant product, an innovative company, and a great idea—but you can’t sell what you can’t say.

Sales isn’t just about having the perfect pitch. It’s about connection. How you look, sound, listen, ask questions, and communicate your value matters just as much as the words themselves.

And we didn’t just talk about communication—we practiced it.

We worked through SHINE™ for non-verbal presence, VOICE™ for vocal delivery, and the Communication Compass™ to help founders get clear on their customer, their message, and the transformation they provide.

We also practiced one of the most important—and overlooked—sales skills: discovery. Great selling isn’t just talking. It’s asking better questions, listening to the answers, and understanding what the person in front of you actually needs.

Then we brought it all together with three simple questions:

What do you do? What problem do you solve? What should your customer do next?

Simple. Clear. Human.

That’s what Sell Like You Mean It is really about. Not becoming slicker or memorizing the perfect sales script. It’s learning to communicate something you believe in with clarity, confidence, warmth, and intention.

Because communication is a skill—and skills have to be practiced.

Thank you to Founders Forge for inviting me to work with this group of entrepreneurs. Now go step up, speak out, and sell like you mean it.
