Singing with the Symphony

There are moments in your life that feel bigger than the stage you’re standing on—and singing in Tulsa Sings with the symphony was one of them.

From the first note, backed by a full orchestra, it’s a completely different experience. You’re not just singing—you’re floating in sound. Every breath matters. Every phrase expands. It’s cinematic, emotional, and honestly… a little surreal.

And then came the song.

To sing Somewhere Out There—one of the most iconic duets of all time—alongside Sam Briggs was pure magic. It’s a song that already carries so much heart, so much longing, so much hope. But when you place it inside a symphony hall? It opens up in a whole new way.

There was a moment in the performance where I just felt it—that connection between the music, the audience, and us on stage. The kind of moment where you’re not thinking anymore… you’re just in it.

And yes—channeling a little bit of Linda Ronstadt energy didn’t hurt. That effortless power, that emotional honesty, that ability to let the voice soar without ever forcing it—that was the feeling I leaned into.
